Farewell and gratitude to Dr Ha Vinh Tho and Welcome to Dr. Julia Kim
The GNH Centre Bhutan would like to express our deep appreciation and gratitude to Dr. Ha Vinh Tho for his dedicated service to the GNHCB since 2013. Dr. Tho, together with Dr. Julia Kim and the GNHCB team have worked together to deepen awareness and understanding of Bhutan’s unique development approach, Gross National Happiness, in Bhutan and beyond.
We know Dr. Tho will be blessed with success and many friendships in all of his endeavors, and wish him the very best as he returns home to Switzerland to begin a new chapter of his life. His tenure as the GNHCB Program Director ends on 1 March 2018.
We are also delighted to announce that Dr. Julia Kim will now move into the position of Program Director of the GNH Centre Bhutan.
Dr. Julia brings a background in programs, policy and research in the fields of global health and sustainable development, and holds degrees from Cornell University, the University of Manitoba, Tufts University, and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Prior to coming to Bhutan, she worked extensively in Africa, and Asia with NGOs, academia and UN agencies (UNDP and UNICEF). Having served as the Senior Program Advisor for GNHCB since 2013, and as a member of the International Expert Working Group for a New Development Paradigm (convened by the Royal Government of Bhutan), we are confident that Dr. Julia will help us bring the growth and development of the GNHCB and its partners to the next level.
